OUR STORY
Sceugh Dyke Estate was bought by the current owner in 2006. In 2013, these beautiful stone-faced barns were lovingly renovated to become the perfect rural retreat. Full of character, much of the interior and fittings have been sourced locally.
With their amazing views, the properties take their name from the nearby Lakeland fell Blencathra, which dominates the local skyline and is also known as 'Saddleback' due to its distinctive saddle-shaped silhouette.
The Saddleback View holiday properties are located on the Sceugh Dyke Estate which is the main residence of the owner and her family. With horses, dogs, Thomas the cat and plenty of wildlife on your doorstep, you will be sure to experience the rural lifestyle from the luxury of your private cosy retreat.
As your home from home, we want to make your stay as relaxing or energetic as you wish.
Our aim is that you leave feeling like you want to come back.
MEET THE OWNER
"I acquired Sceugh Dyke Estate, which is a small farm holding of 26 acres, in 2016. Mum and Dad were farmers in their day and I have always enjoyed equestrian activities. Part of the attraction of Sceugh Dyke was restoring buildings on the estate. It made sense to diversify into tourism and I had the vision and enthusiasm to convert the barns into holiday homes, not to mention I love meeting people.
"I feel a great weight of responsibility to ensure all my guests are comfortable and embrace the country way of life during their stay at this very special place."
