SADDLEBACK VIEW COTTAGE

The two-bedroom luxury cottage has been fully renovated and has the most stunning views over Blencathra, also known as Saddleback.

​The cottage boasts a log fire, private parking and complimentary Wifi. The private patio and extensive garden, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, has a barbecue for al fresco dining whilst watching the sunset over the Lake District fells.

​The two bedrooms both have their own bathrooms, super-king-size beds with luxury Egyptian bed linen and plush cotton towels.

The Cottage has full wheelchair accessibility, is non smoking and unfortunately dogs are not welcome.

Upon arrival you will receive a Welcome Pack with some local goodies. We can also provide the following facilities:

travel cot, highchair, ironing board and iron.

Ground floor

Entrance hall with exposed stone walls and original features such as beams and alcoves, leading to the staircase, kitchen and ground floor bedroom.

Designer kitchen, handmade with oak tops, integrated appliances include dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, fridge, ice maker and freezer.

The Rangemaster cooker (double oven) forms the central feature in the kitchen, an ideal place to cook a brace of pheasants dropped off by the local shoot master.

Guests may dine on a hand-made oak table with a view through the lounge and out towards the Lake District fells.



First floor

On the first floor is the master bedroom with super-king-size bed, comfy chairs and heaps of natural light with views of the surrounding countryside.

The room has oak flooring, doors and handmade furniture. The decor in the room is to a high standard with goose down duvets and linen sheets to add to your comfort.

The separate bathroom has both a bath and shower, WC and wash hand basin.

There is also an external sandstone staircase leading down to the garden.

The lounge has 180-degree aspect, an ideal place to take in the wonderful views and become acquainted with the inhabitants of the garden and fields. There is a cosy log burning stove with logs provided complimentary. Another feature of the room is the floor which is composed of home-grown oak boards and oak beams.

There are two comfortable sofas to sink into when relaxing, reading or watching TV.

The super-king-size ground floor bedroom can be converted into a twin and is snugly positioned away from the main living areas and has its own large, ensuite bathroom with WC, wash hand basin and walk in shower.

There is a cloakroom with WC. The ground floor has under-floor heating, and the rest of the Cottage has oil fired central heating.

Outdoor

One side the cottage sits alongside the driveway to the estate, with the other side of the cottage surrounded by extensive gardens, private patio with external lighting and stunning views over the fields to the Lake District.  

Within the south-east facing garden is a large sandstone flagged patio area with BBQ, a summer house and garden furniture.

Parking is conveniently located immediately outside the cottage.
